On Sunday, December 4, ARIS Thessaloniki F.C. welcomes to «Kleanthis Vikelidis» Stadium (18.30) the Israeli Champion, Maccabi Haifa F.C., in a charity international friendly football game.
It will not, however, be a... ordinary football game. It is a first-class opportunity, ARIS F.C. to remind and keep unquenchable in the thoughts of all of us, issues greater than football and concern everybody.
The game against Maccabi Haifa F.C. has a significant symbolism, perhaps more relevant than ever.
We hope that this Greek-Israeli football game will be able to raise awareness of and educate younger generations about the Holocaust Remembrance and the fight against antisemitism, racism, discrimination, and social exclusions.
All the proceeds from the football game will be donated to support the completion of the new Holocaust Museum of Greece, in Thessaloniki.
General admission to the charity international friendly football game is 10 euros.
On the evening of December 4th, ARIS F.C. together with its fans will send with their presence a strong message against discrimination and antisemitism.
The initiative of ARIS F.C. is strongly supported by the Jewish Community of Thessaloniki and the local authorities.
